Meghan has a degree in physical education and health education and has always loved working with children of all ages encouraging them to be strong and healthy. After joining the military, Meghan was unable to work as a teacher because of frequent deployments and training that took her out of the state and across the world.

2015

She continued to work with children teaching swimming lessons for over 15 years but missed the connection that truly comes with teaching kids more in-depth. After returning to school to become a Physical Therapist Assistant 2015, she discovered that maintaining a healthy body is vitally important as we all continue to age. Balance, strength, and flexibility are key to a long and healthy life along with maintaining cardiovascular health.

But raising up two strong girls of her own just wasn’t enough, Meghan found that even at a Christian school bullying was a problem and that standing up for yourself and the underdog was a skill that needs to be taught.

2014

After overhearing a little girl refer to another little girl with a disability as a “thing,” Meghan was shocked and determined to make that a teaching moment, but because of people leaving shortly afterward, she wasn’t able to get over to those girls and make an impact that day.

After a discussion in the car where she found her daughter felt she didn’t know what to say, Meghan determined that the world we live in needs to see a change.

We need to step away from the mean-girl mentality and build an environment where kids can feel confident and comfortable in who they are. An environment where girls know how to be strong and to support one another too!

Raising Strong Girls Boot Camps was developed because of the need to change the world we live in; building off Meghan’s military experiences, physical and health education background and her desire to teach girls that kindness matters no matter what and that true beauty and strength are found within.

We all know that we are stronger together, so the idea of training up young girls along with the older girls in their lives to make a positive impact on the world around them can certainly lead to the change the world needs to see--
